Objective

By the end of this lesson, Hailey will be able to understand basic concepts of English, Math, and Social Studies through engaging activities that incorporate her interests in the Tuttle Twins episodes, history, and Bible lessons. She will also learn the importance of prayer and how to express her thoughts and feelings through these subjects.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and crayons for drawing
  • Simple math manipulatives (like blocks or buttons)
  • Children's Bible storybook
  • Prayer journal (a simple notebook)

Before the lesson, ensure that the Tuttle Twins episode is ready to watch and that all materials are accessible. Familiarize yourself with the episode's content to facilitate discussion.

Activities

  • Watch and Discuss Tuttle Twins Episode: Start the lesson by watching a selected episode of the Tuttle Twins. After watching, engage Hailey in a discussion about what she learned and how it relates to history and values.
  • Draw a Scene: After the episode, ask Hailey to draw her favorite scene or character from the show. Encourage her to use colors and express what she liked about it.
  • Simple Math with Manipulatives: Use the blocks or buttons to create simple addition and subtraction problems. For example, if she has 3 buttons and you add 2 more, ask her how many she has now.
  • Bible Story Time: Read a short Bible story together. Discuss the moral of the story and how it relates to her life. Ask her how she can apply it in her daily activities.
  • Prayer Journal Activity: Help Hailey write or draw something she is thankful for in her prayer journal. Encourage her to say a short prayer about it, expressing her thoughts to God.
