Objective
By the end of this lesson, Penelope will understand the basic steps involved in running for president and the importance of elections in a democracy. She will also learn about the different roles and responsibilities of a president.

- Simple printout of a "Road to the White House" chart (can be drawn by hand)

Presidential Candidate Drawing
Penelope will draw her own version of a presidential candidate. She can create a character, give them a name, and write down three things they would like to change in the country. This will help her think about what qualities are important in a leader.

Election Day Role Play
Penelope will pretend to be a voter and practice what she would say when voting for her favorite candidate. You can take turns being the candidate and the voter to make it more fun!

Road to the White House Chart
Penelope will create a simple chart showing the steps to becoming president, such as "Decide to Run," "Campaign," "Vote," and "Inauguration." She can decorate it with drawings and colors.

Penelope will write a short speech about why she would make a great president. She can practice delivering it with enthusiasm, just like real candidates do!
