Objective
By the end of this lesson, Tempest will understand the concept of friendship, recognize that friends can be different, and learn to express this through art, math, and music activities.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or markers
- Small objects for counting (like buttons or stones)
- Musical instruments (like a tambourine or clapping hands)
- Space to move and create
Before the lesson, think of some examples of friends you have and activities you enjoy together. Prepare to share these with Tempest.
Activities
-
Friendship Art: Tempest will draw a picture of her friends. Encourage her to use different colors and shapes to represent each friend. Ask her to say something special about each friend as she draws.
-
Counting Friends: Using small objects, Tempest will count how many friends she has. She can group them into boys and girls or by favorite activities, helping her understand differences and similarities.
-
Friendship Songs: Sing a simple song about friends together. You can make it fun by adding claps or movements. Encourage Tempest to create her own verses about what her friends like to do.
