Objective

By the end of this lesson, Lucious will have a deeper understanding of brown bears, including their habitat, diet, and behavior. He will also engage in fun activities that will help him remember what he learned.

Materials and Prep

  • Colored pencils or crayons
  • Markers
  • Access to a computer or tablet (optional for videos)
  • A comfortable space to sit and work

Before the lesson, make sure to find some fun facts about brown bears to share with Lucious. You can also look for a short video about brown bears to watch together if you have access to a computer or tablet.

Activities

  • Brown Bear Drawing: Lucious will draw a picture of a brown bear in its natural habitat. He can use colored pencils or crayons to make it vibrant and colorful.

  • Bear Facts Poster: Lucious will create a poster that includes fun facts about brown bears. He can write down interesting things he learns and decorate it with drawings.

  • Bear Movement Game: Lucious will pretend to be a brown bear and act out different behaviors such as fishing for salmon, climbing trees, and hibernating. This activity will help him understand how bears live.

  • Story Time: If possible, read a short story or watch a video about brown bears. Afterward, discuss what Lucious thinks about the story and what new things he learned.
