Objective
By the end of this lesson, Ellianna will be able to recognize and say her name confidently. She will engage in fun activities that help her identify the letters in her name and understand that letters come together to form words.
Materials and Prep
- No materials are needed for this lesson.
- Be prepared to use a positive and encouraging tone throughout the activities.
- Have a space ready for movement and play.
Activities
-
Name Dance:
Play some fun music and encourage Ellianna to dance. When the music stops, say, "Can you show me the first letter of your name?" and help her point it out. This will make her recognize her name while having fun!
-
Name Jump:
Write each letter of Ellianna's name on the floor using tape or just point to them. Ask her to jump on each letter while saying the letter name. This will help her learn the letters in her name through active play.
-
Name Art:
Draw big letters of her name on paper and encourage her to color them in. As she colors, you can say, "This is the letter E! Can you say E?" This will help her connect the visual letters with her name.
Talking Points
- "Ellianna, can you say your name? It starts with the letter E!"

- "Great job jumping on the letters! What letter comes next?"
