Objective

By the end of this lesson, Georgia will have a comprehensive understanding of the Great Pyramids of Giza, including their historical significance, architectural features, and the mysteries surrounding their construction. Before the lesson, familiarize yourself with the basic history and architecture of the Great Pyramids. This will help facilitate discussions and guide activities.

Activities

  • Pyramid Sketching:

    Georgia will create her own artistic interpretation of the Great Pyramid of Giza. She can research its dimensions and design before sketching it out, adding details like the surrounding landscape and the Sphinx.

  • Mini Documentary:

    Using her notebook, Georgia will write a short script for a mini-documentary about the Great Pyramids. She can include interesting facts, theories about their construction, and their significance in ancient Egyptian culture.

  • Creative Writing:

    Georgia will write a fictional diary entry from the perspective of a worker who helped build the pyramids. This will encourage her to think critically about the lives of those who lived in ancient Egypt.

    Georgia will create a trivia game with fun facts about the pyramids. She can challenge herself or family members to see who knows more about this ancient wonder!
