Objective
By the end of this lesson, Korbyn will understand the importance of different cultures around the world, how they influence each other, and will create a fun project that represents a culture of his choice.
Materials and Prep
- Pencil and paper for note-taking and drawing.
- Colored markers or crayons for the project.
- A world map (can be drawn or printed).
- Access to a list of countries and their cultures (can be found in books or online).
- Knowledge of at least three different cultures to share with Korbyn.
Activities
-
Culture Exploration: Korbyn will choose a country and research its culture. He can look into traditions, food, clothing, and languages. This will help him understand the uniqueness of each culture.
-
Map It Out: Using the world map, Korbyn will mark the country he chose. He can draw symbols or pictures that represent that culture next to the country on the map.
-
Creative Project: Korbyn will create a poster or a small booklet that showcases his chosen culture. He can include drawings, fun facts, and even a recipe for a traditional dish!
-
Presentation Time: Korbyn will present his project to a family member or a friend. This will help him practice speaking and sharing what he learned.
