Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a basic understanding of the solar system, including the names of the planets, their order from the sun, and some fun facts about each planet.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Colored pencils or crayons
- A comfortable space to sit and learn
Before starting the lesson, make sure the student is ready to learn and has a positive mindset. You can also prepare a simple list of the planets in the solar system to refer to during the lesson.
Activities
-
Planet Drawing: Ask the student to draw their favorite planet. Encourage them to use bright colors and add details like rings or moons. After they finish, they can share what they drew and why they like that planet.
-
Planet Order Game: Create a fun game where you say the names of the planets and the student has to put them in order from the sun. You can use hand gestures to represent the sun and planets to make it more engaging!
-
Fun Facts Sharing: Each planet has its own unique facts. Together, you can take turns sharing one fun fact about each planet. For example, "Did you know Jupiter is the biggest planet?"
