Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the importance of physical activity and learn about feeding goats.

Materials and Prep

  • A picture or video of a goat
  • A small toy goat or stuffed animal
  • A small bowl of pretend food (e.g., paper cutouts of vegetables)
  • A clear space for movement

Activities

  1. Introduction:

Show the picture or video of a goat and ask the student if they know what animal it is. Explain that goats are interesting animals and we can learn about them while being active.

  2. Goat Feeding Relay:

Set up a relay race where the student has to pretend to feed the toy goat with the pretend food. Place the bowl of pretend food at one end of the space and the toy goat at the other end. The student should run back and forth, picking up one piece of pretend food at a time and placing it near the toy goat. Repeat the relay race a few times to make it fun and active.

  3. Goat Stretching:

After the relay race, explain to the student that just like goats need to stretch their bodies, we also need to stretch our bodies before and after physical activity. Demonstrate simple stretches like reaching up to the sky, touching toes, and twisting side to side. Encourage the student to follow along and stretch their body.

  4. Goat Dance Party:

Put on some lively music and have a dance party with the student. Encourage them to move their body like a goat, jumping, hopping, and twirling around. Dance together and have fun!
