Materials and Prep
- No special materials are required for this lesson.
- Prepare a simple scene or story that J can act out with friends.
- Make sure there is enough space for movement.
Activities
-
Character Creation: J will choose a character from a favorite story or invent a new one. They can think about how their character looks, acts, and feels. Encourage J to draw a picture of their character to help visualize them.
-
Scene Practice: J will practice a short scene with friends. They will take turns speaking their lines and moving around the space as their characters. Remind them to use their bodies to show how their character feels.
-
Pantomime Actions: J will practice pantomiming different actions that their character might do, like eating, sleeping, or running. This helps to express the story without using words.
-
Group Performance: J and their friends will put on a mini-performance for family members. They can dress up using clothes from home to make it more fun!
