Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have created a short story outline and illustrated at least one page of their book about Tehran. This will help them express their creativity while learning about the culture and landmarks of Tehran.

Materials and Prep

  • Pencil and eraser
  • Blank sheets of paper
  • Colored pencils or markers
  • Reference materials about Tehran (books, articles, or websites)
  • A comfortable space to write and draw

Before the lesson, it would be helpful to gather some interesting facts and images of Tehran to inspire the student's writing and illustrations.

Activities

  • Research and Brainstorm:

Start by researching interesting facts about Tehran. What are some famous landmarks? What is the culture like? Write down ideas and choose a few to include in the story.

  • Create a Story Outline:

Using the brainstormed ideas, create a simple outline for the story. Decide on the main character, the setting, and the plot. This will help organize thoughts and make writing easier.

  • Write a Short Story:

Using the outline, write a short story about the character's adventure in Tehran. Encourage the student to be imaginative and include descriptive details about the places they visit.

  • Illustrate the Story:

Choose one scene from the story to illustrate. Use colored pencils or markers to create a vibrant picture that captures the essence of Tehran.

  • "How do you think the culture of Tehran can be shown in your story? Are there special foods or traditions?"
