Objective

By the end of this lesson, A will be able to understand the basic story of "The Prince of Egypt," recognize the main characters, and express their feelings about the movie through fun activities.

Materials and Prep

  • Access to the movie "The Prince of Egypt"
  • Comfortable viewing area (cushions or blankets)
  • Coloring materials (crayons or markers)
  • Paper for drawing or coloring
  • Snack (optional, but fun to have!)

Before starting, make sure the movie is ready to play and that the viewing area is cozy and inviting for A.

Activities

  • Movie Time:

    Start by watching "The Prince of Egypt" together. Encourage A to pay attention to the characters and the story as it unfolds.

  • Character Drawing:

    After the movie, ask A to draw their favorite character from the film. Talk about why they chose that character and what they liked about them.

  • Emotion Sharing:

    Discuss how the characters might feel throughout the movie. Ask A how they felt during certain parts and why.

  • Story Retelling:

    Encourage A to retell the story in their own words. Help them with prompts if needed, and celebrate their creativity!

  • "Who is your favorite character in the movie? Why do you like them?"
  • "How do you think Moses felt when he saw the burning bush? Was he scared or excited?"
  • "Can you tell me what happened when the sea opened? That was so cool!"
  • "What do you think it means to be a good friend like Moses was?"
