Objective

Activities

  1. Introduce Henri Rousseau and show examples of his paintings, focusing on his use of camouflage and vibrant colors.
  2. Discuss the concept of camouflage and its purpose in nature.
  3. Explain that you will be creating your own camouflage artwork inspired by Rousseau.
  4. Provide each student with a canvas or thick paper and paintbrushes.
  5. Encourage students to select a jungle animal or plant as their subject for camouflage.
  6. Show students how to mix colors to create different shades and tones.
  7. Guide students in painting their chosen subject using camouflage techniques, such as blending colors and using patterns to mimic the environment.
  8. Allow students to experiment and explore their creativity while painting their camouflage artwork.
  9. Once the paintings are complete, have a class discussion where students share their artwork and explain their camouflage choices.
