Objective
By the end of this lesson, Arnia will understand the importance of keeping our environment clean and will actively participate in a fun outdoor activity of walking and picking up rubbish. She will learn how small actions can make a big difference in her community.
Materials and Prep
- Comfortable walking shoes
- A reusable bag or container for collecting rubbish
- Gloves (optional for hygiene)
- A notebook and pencil for observations (optional)
Before the lesson, make sure to choose a safe walking route where rubbish can be collected. Discuss the importance of safety while walking, such as staying on sidewalks and being aware of traffic.
Activities
-
Nature Walk and Rubbish Collection
Arnia will take a walk in her neighborhood or local park, using a reusable bag to collect any litter she finds. This activity will help her connect with nature while making it cleaner.
-
Observation Journal
During the walk, Arnia can take notes or draw pictures of the different types of rubbish she finds. This will encourage her to think about what kind of waste is common and how it affects the environment.
-
Rubbish Sorting Game
Once back home, Arnia can sort the collected rubbish into categories: recyclable, compostable, and trash. This will teach her about recycling and waste management.
-
Reflection Time
After the activities, Arnia can share her thoughts about the walk and what she learned. Discussing her experiences will help reinforce her understanding of environmental responsibility.
