Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to retell the story of Rapunzel, draw a king shaped like the letter K, and practice writing the letter K. This will help improve their storytelling skills, creativity, and handwriting.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil
- Crayons or colored pencils (optional)
Make sure the student is comfortable with their drawing space and has a clear view of their paper. Review the story of Rapunzel together before starting the drawing activity.
Activities
-
Story Retelling:
Ask the student to tell you the story of Rapunzel in their own words. Encourage them to include details about the characters and events they remember.
-
Drawing the King:
Guide the student in drawing a king that is shaped like the letter K. Explain how they can use the lines of the letter to create the king's body and crown.
-
Letter K Practice:
Have the student practice writing the letter K on their paper. They can start with big letters and then try smaller ones. Make it fun by adding decorations around the letters!
