Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify different shapes and use them creatively to make a fun face drawing. The student will understand how shapes can come together to form recognizable objects.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil or crayon
- Optional: Eraser for corrections
Before the lesson, ensure the student has a comfortable space to draw. Review basic shapes such as circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles with the student.
Activities
-
Shape Hunt: Start by going on a shape hunt around the house. Ask the student to find objects that are circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. This will help them recognize shapes in everyday life.
-
Shape Face Drawing: Have the student draw a face using only shapes. For example, a circle for the head, triangles for the ears, and rectangles for the neck. Encourage them to be creative with their shapes!
-
Shape Story: Ask the student to create a short story about their shape face. Who is this character? What do they like to do? This will help develop their imagination and storytelling skills.
