Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recite the rhyme "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," understand its meaning, create a simple art project inspired by it, and explore musical elements related to the rhyme.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or colored pencils
- Access to a singing voice (the student can sing or hum)
- Space to move around for music activities
Before the lesson, ensure the student knows the basics of singing and is comfortable expressing themselves through art and music.
Activities
- Sing Along: Start by singing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" together. Encourage the student to sing along with enthusiasm. You can repeat it a few times to build confidence.
- Art Creation: After singing, have the student draw a picture of a starry night sky. They can include their favorite colors and add elements like a moon or clouds.
- Story Time: Discuss what stars are and why they shine. Ask the student to think about what they would wish for if they could make a wish on a star.
- Musical Movement: Create a fun dance to go along with the song. Encourage the student to come up with movements that represent twinkling stars or the night sky.
