Objective
By the end of this lesson, ALEF will be able to identify major internal organs in the human body and explain where they are located. ALEF will also learn how to express where something hurts by naming the affected organ.
Materials and Prep
- None required for this lesson.
- Prepare to explain each organ in simple terms.
- Be ready to ask questions and encourage ALEF to share thoughts.
Activities
-
Organ Charades
In this fun game, ALEF will act out different internal organs while you guess which one it is! This will help ALEF learn about the organs and their functions in a playful way.
-
Body Map
Draw a large outline of a human body on paper. Together, label the internal organs and color them in. This hands-on activity will help ALEF visualize where each organ is located.
-
Story Time
Read a short story about a character who feels different sensations in their body. Discuss which organs might be involved and how they help us feel things. This will help ALEF relate to the organs in a fun narrative.
Talking Points
- "Our body has special parts called organs that help us stay healthy!"
- "Can you point to where your heart is? It's right here, in the middle of your chest!"
- "The stomach helps us digest food. Can you feel your tummy when you're hungry?"
- "If your head hurts, it might be your brain saying it needs rest!"
- "The lungs help us breathe. Can you take a big breath in and out?"
- "Every organ has a job! What do you think your kidneys do?"
