Objective

By the end of this lesson, RR will be able to identify different countries on a map, understand their geographical features, and learn fun facts about each country, enhancing their knowledge of world geography.

Materials and Prep

  • A blank world map (can be drawn or printed)
  • Colored pencils or markers
  • A notebook or paper to write down facts
  • A globe or access to an online map (optional)
  • Preparation: Familiarize yourself with a few interesting facts about different countries to share with RR.

Activities

  • Map Coloring: RR will color different countries on the blank map using colored pencils. Each color can represent a continent or a specific type of geographical feature (like mountains or rivers).

  • Country Fact Hunt: RR will choose three countries from the map and research fun facts about each one. This can include the capital city, famous landmarks, or unique animals that live there.

  • Geography Quiz: After learning about the countries, RR can create a simple quiz for themselves. They can write questions like "What is the capital of France?" and then answer them.

  • Story Time: RR can pick a country and create a short story or a fun adventure that takes place there, using the facts they learned to make the story exciting and informative.
