Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to reflect on their first day of homeschool by answering questions from the "My First Day of Homeschool 2025" Twinkl worksheet. They will express their thoughts and feelings about their new learning environment and activities.

Materials and Prep

  • My First Day of Homeschool 2025 Twinkl question worksheet
  • Pencils or colored markers
  • Blank paper for additional drawing or writing
  • Timer (optional for timed activities)

Before the lesson, review the worksheet questions to understand the topics the student will be discussing. Make sure to create a comfortable space for the student to work and express themselves freely.

Activities

  • Worksheet Exploration:

Start by going through the Twinkl worksheet together. Read each question aloud and encourage the student to share their thoughts and feelings about their first day of homeschool.

  • Creative Drawing:

After discussing the worksheet, ask the student to draw a picture of their favorite moment from their first day. This can be anything they enjoyed, like their favorite subject or a fun activity.

  • Story Time:

Have the student write a short story about their first day of homeschool. They can include characters, adventures, and any challenges they faced. This helps with creative writing skills!

  • Sharing Circle:

Finish the lesson with a sharing circle where the student can present their drawing and story. Encourage them to explain why they chose those moments and how they felt about them.

Talking Points

  • "What was the most exciting part of your first day? Let's think about what made it special!"
  • "How did you feel when you started your day? Were you nervous, excited, or something else?"
  • "What did you learn about homeschooling that surprised you?"
  • "Can you tell me about a new friend you met or something fun you did?"

  • "If you could change one thing about your first day, what would it be?"
  • "How do you think homeschooling is different from regular school?"
  • "What are you looking forward to in the coming days of homeschooling?"
  • "How can we make each day of homeschool as fun as your first day?"
