Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand the basics of hair, skin, and nails, including their importance and how to take care of them. The student will also engage in fun activities to reinforce their learning.

Materials and Prep

  • Mirror
  • Water
  • Soap
  • Soft cloth or towel
  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Coloring materials (crayons, markers, or colored pencils)

Before the lesson, make sure to have a clean area for activities and a safe space for the student to explore their hair, skin, and nails. Prepare a fun song about caring for hair, skin, and nails to play during the lesson.

Activities

  • Mirror Time: Let the student look in the mirror and explore their hair, skin, and nails. Ask them to describe what they see and how they feel about it.
  • During this activity, encourage the student to touch their hair and skin gently and talk about their favorite things about themselves.

  • Washing Hands: Teach the student how to wash their hands properly using soap and water. Sing a fun song while washing to make it enjoyable.
  • This activity will help the student understand the importance of keeping their skin clean and healthy.

  • Hair Care Fun: Use a hairbrush or comb to show the student how to take care of their hair. Let them practice brushing their hair or a doll's hair.
  • Discuss different hairstyles and let the student express their creativity with their hair.

  • Coloring Activity: Provide coloring materials and ask the student to draw a picture of themselves, focusing on their hair, skin, and nails.
  • This will help reinforce their understanding of their own body and encourage self-expression.

Talking Points

  • "Look at your beautiful hair in the mirror! What color is it?"
  • "Our skin is like a superhero suit that protects us! Can you feel how soft it is?"
  • "Do you know why we wash our hands? It's to keep our skin safe and healthy!"
  • "Let's brush our hair! How does it feel when we take care of our hair?"
  • "What color do you want to use for your hair in your drawing? Let's make it colorful!"
