Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify various road signs and understand their meanings. The student will also learn about the importance of traffic rules and how they contribute to road safety.

Materials and Prep

• Paper and colored pencils or markers
• A blank map of a simple town layout (can be drawn by the student)
• A list of common road signs and their meanings (to be provided by the teacher)
• Time to discuss and reflect on the importance of traffic safety

Activities

• Road Sign Art

  The student will create their own road signs using paper and colored pencils. They can choose which signs to create and illustrate them with colors and pictures. This will help reinforce their understanding of each sign's meaning.

• Map Creation

  The student will draw a simple map of a town, including roads, intersections, and their own road signs. They will then place their created signs in appropriate locations on the map, explaining why they chose those spots.

• Traffic Safety Discussion

  The student will participate in a discussion about traffic safety. They will share their thoughts on why it’s important to follow traffic rules and how they can contribute to safer roads.
