Objective
By the end of this lesson, Fynn will understand the basic concepts of calendars, including days, months, and seasons, with a special focus on spring. He will be able to identify the months of the year and recognize the changes that occur during springtime.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Crayons or markers
- A simple calendar template (can be drawn on paper)
- Images or drawings of seasonal changes (flowers blooming, trees budding, etc.)
Before the lesson, prepare a simple calendar layout on paper with empty boxes for each day of the month. Gather images or drawings that represent spring.
Activities
- Calendar Creation:
Fynn will create his own calendar for the month of April. He will fill in the days and draw pictures to represent special days, like his birthday or family events.
- Seasonal Changes Art:
Fynn will draw what he thinks spring looks like. He can include flowers, sunshine, and any animals he might see during this season.
- Days of the Week Song:
Fynn will learn a fun song about the days of the week. We will sing together to help him remember the order of the days.
- Story Time:
We will read a short story about spring, focusing on the changes that happen in nature. This will help Fynn connect the concepts with real-life examples.
