Warm-up: Animal Sounds Song (5 mins)

Let's start by singing a fun song about animal sounds! We can sing 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm' or make up our own song guessing animal sounds.

Activity 1: Meet the Animals! (10 mins)

Look at these pictures of animals! Can you tell me what this animal is? (Show picture card/book page). What sound does it make? Let's talk about where it lives (farm, jungle, ocean). We'll look at a lion, an elephant, a monkey, a fish, and a dog.

Activity 2: Describing Words Fun (10 mins)

Animals are all different! Some are BIG like an elephant, and some are small like a mouse. Some are FAST like a cheetah, and some are SLOW like a turtle. Some feel furry like a cat, and some feel scaly like a fish. Let's look at our animal pictures again. Can you tell me one describing word for this lion? Is it big or small? What about this fish? Is it fast or slow?

Activity 3: Draw Your Favorite Animal (15 mins)

Now it's your turn to be an artist! Choose your favorite animal from the ones we talked about, or any other animal you love. Draw a picture of it. When you're done, tell me about your drawing! What animal is it? What color is it? Is it big or small?

Wrap-up: Animal Review (5 mins)

Wow, great job today! Can you remember two new animals we talked about? What was one describing word we used? You learned so much about amazing animals!
