Activities

  1. Introduction to Fashion Design (10 minutes)
  2. Discuss with your student what fashion design is and show them examples from fashion magazines or online images. Ask them what they notice about the designs and encourage them to use descriptive words to describe the colors, patterns, shapes, and textures they see.

  3. Create Your Own Fashion Design (15 minutes)
  4. Have your student use their imagination to create their own fashion design. Provide them with paper and pencils or markers. Encourage them to think about the colors, patterns, shapes, and textures they want to incorporate into their design. Ask them to draw their design and label it with descriptive words.

  5. Write a Description (10 minutes)
  6. Once your student has finished drawing their fashion design, ask them to write a short description of it using descriptive words. Encourage them to use complete sentences and provide guidance if needed.

  7. Share and Discuss (10 minutes)
  8. Have your student share their fashion design and description with you. Ask them to read their description aloud and discuss what they like about their design and why they chose certain descriptive words.
