Start by discussing what fashion design is and show examples of different types of clothing. Talk about how fashion designers create unique and stylish clothes.
Explain that fashion designers often start by sketching their ideas. Provide the students with paper and pencils and encourage them to create their own fashion sketches. They can use the magazines or catalogs as inspiration or come up with their own designs.
Once the students have sketched their designs, they can use colored pencils or markers to add color and details to their fashion sketches. Encourage them to be creative and experiment with different colors and patterns.
Give each student an opportunity to present their fashion sketches to the class. Ask them to describe their designs and explain their inspiration. Engage in a discussion about different fashion styles and what makes a design unique.
