By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the history of fashion and its connection to different time periods.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and pencils
  • Access to the internet or books about fashion history

Activities

  1. Research and Draw

Using the internet or books, research different fashion styles from various time periods such as ancient Egypt, medieval Europe, or the 1920s. Choose one style that you find interesting and draw a picture of an outfit that represents that style.

  2. Dress-Up Time

Find clothes or accessories from your own wardrobe that resemble the fashion style you chose in the previous activity. Put together an outfit and have a mini fashion show, explaining which time period it represents.

  3. Interview a Fashion Designer
