Materials and Prep

- Pen/pencil and paper
Prior knowledge of basic dance and gymnastics terminology is helpful but not required.
Activities
- Watch the dance or gymnastics routine attentively, paying attention to the movements, expressions, and overall performance.
- Write a descriptive paragraph about the routine, using vivid language to convey the emotions and energy portrayed.
- Identify and list the different elements of the routine, such as jumps, turns, balances, or floor work. Write a sentence or two explaining each element.
- Choose one element from the routine and create a short story or poem inspired by it. Use your imagination to bring the movement to life through words.
