- Books or articles about dance and gymnastics
- Writing materials (paper and pencil)
- Internet access (optional for additional research)
Activities
Begin by discussing with your student their interest in dance and gymnastics. Ask them to share what they already know about these subjects.
Introduce a selection of books or articles about dance and gymnastics to your student. Encourage them to choose one that catches their interest.
Have your student read the chosen book or article, either independently or together. Encourage them to take notes or highlight important information as they read.
After reading, engage in a discussion with your student. Ask them to share what they learned, their favorite parts, and any questions they may have.
Encourage your student to express their thoughts and feelings about dance and gymnastics through writing. They can write a short story, a poem, or even a persuasive essay about why they love these activities.
Review and provide feedback on your student's writing. Discuss ways they can improve their language arts skills and express themselves more effectively.
Optional: If your student is interested, allow them to do additional research about famous dancers or gymnasts and share their findings.
