- Scissors
- Glue
- Dinosaur pictures or books for reference
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Start by discussing dinosaurs with your child. Show them pictures or read a book about dinosaurs to spark their interest.
- Ask your child to choose their favorite dinosaur and draw it on a piece of white paper using colored pencils or crayons. Encourage them to be creative and use their imagination.
- Once the drawing is complete, help your child cut out the dinosaur shape using scissors.
- Next, have your child create a background for their dinosaur artwork. They can draw a landscape or use additional materials such as colored paper or fabric to create a textured background.
- After the background is ready, assist your child in gluing the dinosaur onto the background. Encourage them to experiment with different placements and angles to make their artwork visually interesting.
- Finally, display your child's dinosaur artwork in a prominent place, such as on the wall or refrigerator, and have a discussion about their creation. Ask them questions about their choice of colors, the dinosaur's features, and what they like most about their artwork.
