Introduction: Become a Lego Story Master! (10 minutes)
Hello, future Lego Story Master! Today, we're going on an exciting adventure where YOU become the storyteller, and your Lego bricks are your magic tools. Forget just following instructions; today, we're building unique worlds and tales from our imagination!
What makes a super story?
- Awesome Characters: Who are the stars of your story? Are they brave, funny, mysterious?
- Cool Places (Settings): Where does your story happen? A secret cave, a bustling city, a spaceship?
- Exciting Adventures (Plot): What happens to your characters? Do they solve a puzzle, go on a quest, or have a funny day?
Warm-up Challenge: Can you build one Lego item that could be a 'magic key' in a story in just 2 minutes? Let's see it!
Activity 1: Create Your Lego Crew! (20 minutes)
Every great adventure needs unforgettable characters! Your first mission is to design and build at least two original Lego characters.
- Think about their personalities: Is one a brave knight and the other a quirky scientist? Is one an animal sidekick?
- What makes them look unique? Give them special hats, tools, or even mismatched legs! Use colors creatively.
- Don't worry about perfection; the more imaginative, the better! These are YOUR creations.
As you finish each character, tell me a little about them – what's their name? What do they like to do?
Activity 2: Build Your Story's World! (20 minutes)
Now that your characters are ready, where will their story unfold? It’s time to build a Lego setting for them!
- Imagine the place: Is it a tiny village, a tall mountain, an underwater kingdom, or inside a giant's shoe?
- What details can you add to make it interesting? Maybe a hidden door, a twisty tree, a cozy fireplace, or a control panel with lots of buttons.
- Use your Lego baseplate or a clear table space. Think about how your characters will move around in this world.
This is your story's stage! Make it a place where amazing things can happen.
Activity 3: The Lego Story Unfolds! (25 minutes)
Characters? Check! Setting? Check! Now it's time for action and imagination. Let’s bring your story to life!
- Start thinking: What adventure will your characters have in this place? Will they discover something new? Face a funny challenge? Help someone?
- Begin to act out your story with your Lego characters in the setting you built. What happens first? Then what?
- If your characters get into a tricky spot, how will they solve the problem? You might need to build a new Lego item to help them, like a ladder, a boat, or a communication device!
- Narrate your story out loud as you play. What are your characters saying or thinking?
Creative Spark: Can you build one small Lego 'problem' for your characters to solve in their story (e.g., a broken bridge, a locked box)?
Activity 4: Showtime - Share Your Lego Tale! (15 minutes)
The moment has arrived! It's time to present your incredible Lego story.
- Introduce your characters: Tell us their names and a bit about them.
- Show us your setting: Point out any special features you built.
- Tell your story from beginning to end. Use your voice to make it exciting! You can even make sounds for your characters or actions.
This is your chance to shine as a storyteller! We can even take photos of your Lego scenes to remember your awesome tale.
Wrap-up & What's Next? (10 minutes)
Wow! That was a fantastic Lego story! Let's talk about your adventure as a creator:
- What was your most favorite part of making this Lego story?
- What was a bit tricky to build or figure out for your story? How did you solve that challenge (that's great problem-solving!)?
- What new Lego stories are already popping into your head for next time? A space adventure? A medieval quest?
You did an amazing job as a Lego Story Builder today! Remember to carefully pack away your bricks, so they're ready for your next creative journey.
