2. Where in the World is Lake Tanganyika? (10-15 minutes)

Now, let's look closer at Africa (use a map of Africa). Lake Tanganyika is a long, skinny lake. Can you spot it? (Guide the student to find it). It's so big that it touches four different countries! 4. Creative Adventure: My Lake Tanganyika Diorama! (30-45 minutes)

Now it's your turn to bring Lake Tanganyika to life! We're going to create a diorama (a 3D model in a box) or a detailed drawing of this amazing lake.

Your mission:

  1. Use your shoebox or cardboard as the base.
  2. Use blue paper or clay for the water. Remember, it's very deep!
  3. Add some land around the edges using brown or green paper/clay. Maybe some rocks or plants?
