Objective

By the end of this lesson, the Kindergarten student will be able to identify and read simple words related to dinosaurs, and demonstrate comprehension by answering questions about a dinosaur story.

Materials and Prep

  • Dinosaur books or printouts
  • Paper and crayons

Activities

  1. Introduce the topic of dinosaurs by showing pictures or reading a short dinosaur book.
  2. Ask the student to draw their favorite dinosaur and label it with its name.
  3. Read a dinosaur story together, emphasizing the words related to dinosaurs.
  4. After reading, ask the student questions about the story to check comprehension. For example, "What color was the dinosaur in the story?" or "What did the dinosaur eat?"

  • "Today, we are going to learn about dinosaurs. Dinosaurs lived a long, long time ago. They were big animals that looked different from the animals we have today."
