What We're Learning Today!

  1. How to read and follow simple instructions to make a yummy snack.
  2. How to use our imaginations to create something new and fun with food!
  3. How to describe our amazing food creations.

Your Mission, Super Snack Chef!

Today, you're going to become a Super Snack Chef! Your mission is to create the funniest, silliest, or most awesome-looking snack faces using crackers or toast and yummy toppings. We'll learn how to be creative and make our food look as good as it tastes!

Let's Get Cooking (and Creating!):

Step 1: Prepare Your Base!

Choose your cracker or piece of toast. This will be the 'head' for your funny face!

If you're using toast, ask a grown-up to help you toast it lightly.

Step 2: Spread the Fun!

Pick your favorite spread. Using your spreader, carefully spread a thin layer onto your cracker or toast. This is like the 'skin' for your face.

Step 3: Time to Get Creative - Decorate Your Face!

Look at all your toppings! Think about what you want your funny face to look like.

  • What will you use for eyes?
  • What about a nose? A mouth?
  • Does it need hair or ears? Maybe a hat made of a cucumber slice?

Carefully place your toppings on the spread to create your edible art. There are no rules here, just have fun! You can make a smiley face, a surprised face, an animal face, or even an alien face!

Step 4: The Grand Unveiling (and Tasting!)

Wow! Look at your amazing creation! Before you gobble it up, tell a grown-up (or a favorite toy!) all about your funny face snack.

  • What did you name it?
  • What ingredients did you use for the different parts of the face?
  • What was your favorite part about making it?

Now, it's time for the best part – enjoy your delicious and artistic snack!

Super Chef Challenge (Optional):

  • Can you make a whole family of funny faces?
  • Can you draw a picture of your funny face snack and write down the 'recipe' (what you used for each part)?
  • What other foods could you turn into funny faces? (e.g., pancakes, rice cakes)

Clean Up Crew!

Great chefs always clean up their stations! Help put away any leftover ingredients and wash your plate and spreader.
