Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the importance of trees in our environment and identify different parts of a tree.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue
  • Optional: Tree identification book or online resource

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of the different parts of a tree.

Activities

  1. Draw a picture of a tree on a piece of paper.
  2. Color the tree using crayons or colored pencils.
  3. Cut out the tree carefully.
  4. Stick or glue the tree onto a separate piece of paper to create a tree collage.
  5. (Optional) If you have access to a tree identification book or online resource, try to identify the type of tree you drew and write its name on your collage.
