Objective
By the end of this lesson, the Kindergarten student will be able to recognize and say basic Spanish vocabulary related to unicorns and mermaids.
Materials and Prep
- Printed flashcards with images of unicorns and mermaids
- Whiteboard or large paper
- Markers or colored pencils
Activities
- Show the flashcards to the student and ask them to repeat the words in Spanish. Practice saying the words together.
- Draw a unicorn and a mermaid on the whiteboard or large paper. Label the different body parts in Spanish and have the student repeat after you.
- Play a game of "Simon Says" using the Spanish words for unicorn and mermaid. Give commands like "Simon says touch the unicorn's horn" or "Simon says point to the mermaid's tail".
- Create a simple story using the Spanish vocabulary learned. Use the flashcards as visual aids and encourage the student to participate by saying the words when prompted.
