"Imagine you are an explorer standing on a path. In front of you, the path stretches out forever into the future. Behind you, it stretches back endlessly into history. No matter how far you walk in either direction, the road never stops! Did you know that math has its very own world map just like this? It's called the Number Line, and today we are going to explore its secret territories—including the mysterious land below zero!"

  4. "Notice how $-5$ is smaller than $-1$? Even though $5$ sounds bigger than $1$, $-5$ means you are deeper underwater or colder in temperature!"

Setup: Build a floor number line using tape/chalk with markers from $-10$ to $+10$. The learner stands at $0$.
