Activities
- Read a book about Puerto Rico: Start the lesson by reading a book about Puerto Rico to your student. Encourage them to listen attentively and ask questions about the story.
- Draw and color the Puerto Rican flag: Provide your student with paper and crayons. Show them the Puerto Rican flag and explain its colors and symbols. Ask them to draw and color their own version of the flag.
- Write a postcard from Puerto Rico: Discuss with your student what they would like to see or do if they were in Puerto Rico. Help them write a postcard to a friend or family member, describing their imaginary experience. If possible, print out a picture of a Puerto Rican landmark to attach to the postcard.
- Explore Puerto Rico online: Using a computer or tablet with internet access, search for pictures and videos of Puerto Rico together. Show your student different aspects of Puerto Rican culture, such as traditional music, food, and landmarks. Encourage them to ask questions and share their thoughts.
