Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to write a persuasive essay on their favorite Korean pop music artist.

Materials and Prep

  • Notebook or paper
  • Pen or pencil
  • Access to the internet for research (optional)

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson, but having an interest in Korean pop music will be helpful.

Activities

  1. Research: Have the student research their favorite Korean pop music artist. They can gather information about their background, achievements, and impact on the music industry.
  2. Organize Thoughts: In their notebook or on a separate sheet of paper, have the student create an outline for their persuasive essay. They should include an introduction, body paragraphs with supporting arguments, and a conclusion.
  3. Write the Essay: Using the outline as a guide, have the student write their persuasive essay. Encourage them to use persuasive techniques such as providing evidence, using logical reasoning, and appealing to emotions.
  4. Peer Review: If possible, have the student exchange their essay with a peer or family member for feedback. They can make revisions based on the feedback received.
  5. Finalize and Present: Once the revisions are made, have the student finalize their essay and prepare a short presentation about their favorite Korean pop music artist. They can share their essay and present interesting facts and insights about the artist.
