By the end of this lesson, you will be able to practice spelling words related to the Fall season.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencil or crayons
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Start by discussing the Fall season with your student. Talk about the changes in weather, the colors of the leaves, and the activities people do during this time of year.
-
Ask your student to brainstorm words related to Fall. Write down their suggestions on a piece of paper.
-
Once you have a list of Fall-related words, explain to your student that they will be practicing their spelling by writing these words.
-
Choose one word from the list and say it out loud. Have your student write the word on their paper, making sure to spell it correctly.
-
Repeat the process with the remaining words on the list. Encourage your student to sound out the words and use their knowledge of letter sounds to help them spell.
-
After completing the spelling activity, review the words with your student. Ask them to read each word out loud and check if they spelled them correctly.
