  • Access to American history books or online resources

Activities

  1. Activity: Timeline Creation

    Instructions: Create a timeline of important events in American history. Use a blank piece of paper and draw a horizontal line across the center. Label the left end as "1776" and the right end as "Present." Research and select at least 10 significant events in American history and place them on the timeline in chronological order. Write a brief description next to each event.

  2. Activity: Historical Fiction Book Review

    Instructions: Choose a historical fiction book set in America. Read the book and write a book review highlighting the historical accuracy of the story and how it relates to actual events in American history. Include a summary of the plot, characters, and your personal opinion of the book. Use evidence from the book to support your review.

  3. Activity: Founding Fathers Interview

    Instructions: Imagine you have the opportunity to interview one of the Founding Fathers of the United States. Choose a Founding Father and write a list of at least 10 interview questions you would ask them. Make sure to include questions about their role in American history, their thoughts on the Constitution, and their vision for the future of the country.
