Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of what fashion design is and some examples to show the student.
Activities
- Introduction to Fashion Design (10 minutes)
Show the student different fashion designs from magazines or catalogs. Discuss the elements of fashion design, such as color, patterns, and style. Encourage the student to ask questions and share their thoughts on the designs. - Choose a Fashion Design (10 minutes)
Let the student choose a fashion design that they find interesting. It can be from the examples you showed or from their own imagination. - Descriptive Paragraph (20 minutes)
Ask the student to write a descriptive paragraph about the fashion design they chose. Encourage them to use descriptive language to paint a vivid picture in the reader's mind. Remind them to include details about the colors, patterns, and style of the design. - Share and Discuss (10 minutes)
Have the student share their descriptive paragraph with you or other family members. Discuss what they liked about their own writing and provide positive feedback. Ask questions to further develop their understanding and encourage critical thinking.
