Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to practice spelling words related to the Boxcar Children series.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and pencil
  • Boxcar Children books

Activities

  1. Choose a Boxcar Children book and read a chapter aloud.

  2. Write down five words from the chapter that you find interesting or important.

  3. Using the words you wrote down, create a word search puzzle on a blank piece of paper. Make sure to include a word bank with the words you selected.

  4. Exchange your word search puzzle with a family member or friend. Have them solve your puzzle while you solve theirs.

  5. Discuss the words you chose and their meanings with your partner.
