Materials and Prep

  • Paper or sketchbook
  • Pencils
  • Coloring materials (crayons, colored pencils, markers)
  • Reference images or screenshots from The Amazing World of Gumball

Before starting the lesson, familiarize yourself with the characters and art style of The Amazing World of Gumball. You can watch episodes or look up images online to get inspiration.

Activities

  1. Brainstorming: Begin by thinking about what kind of character you would like to create. Consider their appearance, personality, and any special abilities or traits they might have.
  2. Sketching: Use your pencil and paper to start sketching out your character. Start with basic shapes and then add details as you go along. Don't worry about making it perfect, just have fun with it!
  3. Refining: Once you have a rough sketch, go over it with a darker pencil or pen to refine the lines and add more details. You can also make adjustments to the character's design if needed.
  4. Coloring: Use your coloring materials to bring your character to life. Think about the colors used in The Amazing World of Gumball and try to incorporate them into your own character's design.
