Materials and Prep

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or spatula
  • Baking sheet
  • Oven
  • Ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder, salt, chocolate chips (optional)
  • Apron (optional)

Activities

  1. Measure out the ingredients according to the recipe. Use the measuring cups and spoons to ensure accuracy.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt) and whisk them together.

  3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.

  5. Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for the specified time, or until the edges are golden brown.

  7. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on a wire rack before enjoying!
