Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to set up your computer to keep your work tidy by organizing files and folders on your desktop.

Materials and Prep

  • A computer with a desktop
  • A pen and paper

Prior knowledge required: Basic computer skills, familiarity with creating and managing files and folders.

Activities

  1. Create a folder on your desktop named "Homeschooling".
  2. Inside the "Homeschooling" folder, create subfolders for each month of the year.
  3. Within each month's folder, create subfolders for each week of that month.
  4. Organize your school work files into the appropriate week folders based on when they were assigned or completed.
  5. Label each file with a clear and descriptive name.
  6. Take a screenshot of your organized desktop and save it as a reference.
