Objective
By the end of this lesson, the Fourth grade homeschool student will be able to demonstrate creativity and improve their writing skills through engaging in various creative writing activities.

Activities

Activity 1: Story Starters
Provide the student with a list of interesting story starters. They can choose one and continue the story, adding their own plot, characters, and setting. Encourage them to use descriptive language and engage their imagination.

Activity 2: Picture Prompt
Show the student a picture or provide them with a printed image. Ask them to write a story inspired by the picture, incorporating details and emotions. They can also illustrate their story if desired.

Activity 3: Poetry Corner
Introduce the student to different types of poetry, such as haiku or acrostic poems. Encourage them to write their own poems using these forms or any other style they prefer. They can explore different themes or focus on personal experiences.

Engage in a collaborative writing activity with the student. Start a story together, taking turns adding sentences or paragraphs. Encourage the student to build on the ideas and plot twists introduced by both of you.
