Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to demonstrate basic trampoline skills and understand the importance of safety measures while using a trampoline.

Materials and Prep

  • A trampoline
  • Comfortable athletic clothing
  • Water bottle
  • Clear space around the trampoline
  • Adult supervision

Activities

  • Warm-up: Begin with a 5-minute warm-up consisting of stretches and light jogging to prepare your body for trampoline exercises.
  • Basic Bounce: Practice the basic bounce technique by keeping your feet together and bouncing up and down on the trampoline. Start with small bounces and gradually increase height and control.
  • Jumping Jacks: Perform jumping jacks on the trampoline, focusing on maintaining balance and coordination while jumping and spreading your arms and legs out to the sides.
  • Knee Tucks: Jump up and bring your knees towards your chest while in the air. Extend your legs back out before landing and repeat the movement.
  • Seat Drops: Sit down on the trampoline and quickly stand up, using your legs to propel yourself into the air. Land softly with your knees slightly bent.
  • Cool-down: Finish the lesson with a 5-minute cool-down, consisting of slow walking or light jogging to gradually lower your heart rate.
