Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the importance of physical activity, learn about dolphins and their physical abilities, and engage in physical exercises that mimic dolphin movements.

Materials and Prep

  • Open space for physical activities
  • Water bottles
  • Printed pictures or videos of dolphins
  • Access to the internet for research (optional)

Activities

  1. Introduction to Dolphins

    • Show pictures or videos of dolphins and discuss their physical characteristics and abilities.
    • Encourage the student to ask questions and share any prior knowledge they may have about dolphins.
  2. Dolphin Movements

    • Explain to the student that they will be engaging in physical exercises that mimic dolphin movements.
    • Demonstrate and guide the student through exercises such as dolphin jumps (jumping jacks), dolphin dives (burpees), and dolphin kicks (flutter kicks).
    • Encourage the student to perform each exercise with proper form and technique.
  3. Research and Presentation

    • Allow the student to conduct research about dolphins using the internet or provided resources.
    • Ask the student to prepare a short presentation about dolphins, including their physical abilities and any interesting facts they discover.
    • Provide guidance and support as needed during the research and presentation preparation.
  4. Physical Activity Break

    • Take a short break to engage in a fun physical activity of the student's choice, such as dancing, jumping rope, or playing an active game.
    • Encourage the student to enjoy and appreciate the benefits of physical activity.
