Read a Christmas story together:
- Choose a Christmas-themed storybook that is appropriate for the student's reading level.
- Read the story aloud, pointing to the words as you go.
- Encourage the student to follow along and ask questions if needed.

Identify story elements:
- After reading the story, discuss the main characters, setting, and plot.
- Write these story elements on the whiteboard or paper.
- Ask the student to describe each element using their own words.

Practice reading comprehension:
- Ask the student questions about the story to check their understanding.
- Encourage them to answer in complete sentences.
- Discuss the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
- Ask the student to retell the story in their own words.
